Back in 2009 Lil Wayne missed a performance and the promotion company Red City Entertainment sued the rapper for $432,000. They claimed he slept through the gig because he was busy the night before getting so drunk in the Bahamas that he overslept and missed the performance. Lil Wayne is saying that he missed it due to some other reason that he just can't remember - huh? The promotion company may have a point being that police found the rapper unconscious in his hotel room that day. Anyway, the longstanding beef is officially over according to court papers filed in New York. The two parties reached a deal outside the courtroom, and the case was dismissed on January 8th.
It's nice to see this legal issue over, but now Wayne is appealing another court decision involving Quincy Jones. A jury had decided in Jones' favor regarding a documentary that Jones shot about Wayne. Wayne said Jones used his music without permission, but Jones claimed that the rapper ruined his film by surrounding it with negative legal issues.
